Concierge or Membership based medical practices charge a 'Fee' to be a part of the practice. The fee is for a more personalized level of service and 24/7 access to Dr. Burns which allows him to limit the number of patients on his panel in order to provide the most comprehensive and individualized care to each individual. This means longer office visits (often 40 minutes- 1 hour) and the ability to get real time answers to medical questions and issues that arise. You will also continue to be responsible for any co-pays that are required by your insurance.
As a concierge patient, you will also receive coordinated care from other vetted specialists, such as nutrition experts, wellness coaches, and fitness professionals. State of the art tests for nutrition, genetics, hormones, stress, and food sensitivity are also administered and are tailored to each individual patient's medical history and requirements.
A hallmark of Renaissance Family Medicine is that referrals to medical specialists will be done without the limitation of referring only to 'affiliated hospitals' so you can get the very best care by the very best doctor for your condition. Patients are most commonly referred to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston Children's Hospital, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Lahey Hospital and Medical Center, Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Massachusetts General Hospital, MassGeneral for Children, New England Baptist Hospital, and Newton Wellesley Hospital. Dr. Burns will coordinate and oversee your care with medical specialists so that you are knowledgeable about specific tests and procedures ordered as well as ensuring that treatment is timely and all necessary follow up is complete and effective.
Dr. Burns' practice accepts Aetna, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Blue Cross/Blue Shield Medex, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, Health Plans, Inc., Medicare, Neighborhood Health Plan, Tufts Health Plan, Unicare, United Health Care, and United Health Care Student Resources.
